Pewee, Buckaroo, Youth, Adult Barrels Open 3D Barrels: This will be a timed event using three barrels set in a cloverleaf pattern. Speed is important, but in addition to speed, the barrels must remain standing. Also, the rider must follow a set pattern. The rider must go to the right or to the left for the first barrel, and must make two right turns and a left or two left turns and a right. The barrels should be spaced at least twenty feet from the fence. There will be a five second penalty for each barrel knocked over (Except in Open 3D Barrels a knocked over barrel will result in disqualification). Failure to follow the course will result in disqualification.
Buckaroo, Youth and Adult Poles: This is a timed event. The pole bending pattern is run around six poles spaced twenty-one feet apart with the first pole set at twenty-one feet from the starting line. Rider may start either to the left or to the right of the first pole and run the pattern accordingly. There will be a five second penalty for each pole knocked over. Failure to follow the course will result in disqualification.
Flags: The flag racing pattern involves three barrels with barrels one and three being set 25 feet from the starting line against the arena fence and barrel 2 being set 65 feet from the starting line. The size of the flag and sand bucket will be left to the discretion of the show sponsor. The flag must be picked up from the sand bucket on the first barrel and deposited in the sand bucket on the last barrel after rounding the second. There will be a five-second penalty for knocking over the first or second barrel. The third barrel must remain standing with the flag in the bucket. Failure to puck up or deposit the flag will result in no time. Flag pattern can be run with barrels either on or off the rail at the rider’s discretion. In case of radar failure, the rider must make an honest attempt at picking up and depositing flag on re-ride. Rider having a qualified ride during radar failure is entitled to a re-ride. Failure to follow the pattern will result in disqualification.
