Coyote Classic IV Series Rules
You must be a member to win Coyote Classic Series Awards.
Points will be awarded for the top fifteen places per division to the "HORSE/RIDER" team. Make sure you are consistent in RIDERS/HORSES names through out the series.
The starting gate/s will remain the same throughout the entire event.
The start/finish/barrel placements will be permanently marked and remain the same throughout the event.
The ground conditions will remain the same throughout the event.
Time will begin anytime the contestant crosses the starting line.
A contestant will be given a "no time" for missing the pattern. (Lenient in Peewee & Buckaroo)
A contestant will receive a "no time" for knocking over a barrel (5 sec. Penalty for a pole).
A contestant will receive a "no time" if Rider falls off mount during the run or if they fall in such a manner that breaks the pattern.
Contestants may ride any horse, regardless of ownership, and may ride as many horses as they choose in a class. However, a horse may not be shown by more than one person in a class, unless the following conditions are met: A: Both contestants are members of the same immediate family who reside in the same household (husband, wife, children and grandchildren 21 and under). Children and grandchildren 21 and under who are attending school away from home, but who reside part of the year with their parents or grandparents are included under this rule. B. Neither contestant is showing any other horse in that class. C. In no case will a horse be ridden more than twice in the same class.
Entries will close when ½ of the class has been run in that class.
Reruns Barrel Classes and Poles - Reruns shall be granted if the timer fails to work properly. Any penalty incurred on the original run shall not be applied against the rerun. Any penalty incurred on the rerun will result in a "no time" for Barrels (5 sec. Penalty for poles). Rider will have the option of running immediately or at the end of the class when timer fails to work
Reruns Flag Class If you make a qualified run and the timer fails to work properly on your rerun you have to make a attempt to pick up and stick the flag.
Entries will run in the order signed up so please be ready to run when your turn to run.
Any contestant that receives a "no time" for either missing the pattern or knocking down barrels or poles will be allowed to complete the pattern but NOT use this time for training and will be ask to exit the arena.
We will be using tickets for Trainers and will be ran first come, first to run.
There will be tickets sold and it is the riders responsibility to be on time. Training Barrels will be 10am-12Noon, Then Training Poles 12N-12:45Pm so come early and get your trainers in.
Coyote Run Arena staff may ask contestants/friends/family to leave the premises if they observe any mistreatment of horses, poor sportsmanship, and/or destruction of arena properties. These behaviors are not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Refunds WILL NOT be offered.
When riding/observing functions at Coyote Run Arena understand they ride/observe at their own risk and cannot hold Coyote Run Arena or it staff liable for any accidents that may happen.
PeeWee Lead line - age 6 and under as of 10/1/07 - Pony or Horse - Lead line leader must cross timer at the same time as horse/pony not in front of it.
PeeWee Barrels age 6 and under as of 10/1/07 Pony or Horse
Buckaroo Barrels age 10 and under as of 10/1/07 Pony or Horse
Pony Barrels age 12 and under as of 10/1/07 Pony 52 and under
Youth Barrels age 18 and under as of 10/1/07
Adult Barrels age 19 and over as of 10/1/07
All barrel classes and Poles will payout 3-D if under 100 entries and 4-D with 100 or more entries.
MEMBERSHIPS:
- All family memberships must
include immediate family members only. Please remember that membership fees
assist in purchasing awards.
- Must attend 7 out of 10 shows to
qualify for awards.
- A $5.00 non-member fee will be
applied per entry for non-members. (Must be Coyote Classic member or be a (Tn/Ms
IBRA Member in the Youth and
Open Classes only in the approved IBRA shows.)
REGISTRATION:
- All classes will close when ½ of
entries have run. Should you choose to Scratch, there will be
NO REFUNDS ONCE CLASS BEGINS.
AWARDS
- Points will be awarded to the Top 15 in each division if the
Class meets the number of riders in 7 of 10 shows. Speed and Flags
are 2D with a ½ sec. split. All other classes (except Open) will receive
only 3D points even if it pays out 4D because of having 100 or more entries.
Open will payout 3D with less than 100 entries but will receive 4D points.
- All classes must have a minimum of 20 riders a minimum of 7 out of 10
shows for awards to be given EXCEPT PEEWEE
AND BUCKAROO. A
Winner and Reserve award will be given and additional awards will be awarded per
10 additional riders. (Max number of Awards will be 5
per Division) Ie. 20 entries show 7 out of 10 shows = winner and
reserve award. 30 entries show 7 out of 10 shows = winner, reserve and 3rd
place award.
- There will be no added money to classes that
have less than 25 contestants.
- All year-end ties will be broken by a
drawing.
