Year End Awards will be given at the last show

1. Youth Class       (Two age Groups)                 $ 9 Team
2. Green as Grass (Beginners only)                     $12 Team
3. Open Class     (Anyone)                                $15 Team
4.  Novice Class (Inexperienced riders only)      $12 Team
5.  Donkey Jackpot   (one rider one Donkey)               $5

$100 added to Open Class if we have 40 Teams or more
Negative Coggins Required

General Rules

• Must be a member to qualify for year end awards

• Must ride 6 of the 8 shows to qualify for year end awards

• 3 riders per team (except in Donkey Jackpot)

• Rides limited to 10 per person per class (except Donkey Jackpot 1 ride only)

• Points will go to each rider not the teams

• If a rider places with more than one team in a class the rider will receive only the points for  the highest of their placing

• If a member rides with someone that is not a member and the team places the member will get points accordingly

• Foul / Start line will be set at 40% point of the arena

Donkey Penning Rules

• All riders must remain mounted for a qualified ride

• 5 seconds to cross start line after your number is called

• 2 minute time limit (to pen the donkeys)

• no more than 5 donkeys across start / foul line at a time

• Pen 2 of the same number in the pen

• Team with the fastest time will win

• Pen set at halfway point of foul / start line and end of the arena

• Pen 16ft from the wall

Donkey Sorting

• All riders must remain mounted for a qualified ride

• 5 seconds to cross start line after your number is called

• 2 minute time limit

• When number is called you will start with that number crossing over the foul / start line first then other to follow in numerical order (Example: if 3 is called 3 will cross then 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, 1, 2)

• Team with the fastest time will win

• In the event no team gets all numbers in 2 minutes, the winner will be determined by the team with the most numbers that crossed the line with the fastest time

Youth Class

• 10 and under group and 18 and under group (age as of October 1, 2009)

• 1 team (same 3 riders) may only compete 5 times together in this class

• The 10 and under group will only have 5 Donkeys to sort in Donkey Sorting and 1 Donkey to pen in Donkey penning

• The 18 and under group will sort 10 Donkeys and pen 2 Donkeys

• Teams will get their full 2 minutes if needed to pen or sort their Donkeys

Green as Grass

• Any Age

• Team (same 3 riders) may only compete 5 times together in this class

• Beginners only

• This Class will only have 5 Donkeys to sort in Donkey Sorting and one Donkey to pen in Donkey penning

• Teams will get their full 2 minutes if needed to pen or sort their Donkeys

Open Class

• $100 added if we have 40 teams or more in Open Class

• Any Age

• This class is open to everyone, no experience restrictions

• Team (same 3 riders) may only compete 3 times together in open class

• In this class after the 10 fastest times have been established the 2 minute limit will decrease to the time of the 10th fastest time.

• The 10 fastest teams will advance to the short go to determine the top teams - Fastest Average time wins

• If there are riders that want to be put in a draw for some of their rides, we will draw 3 random names for teams this helps everyone get to know each other and ride with a new team

Novice Class

• Any Age

• Team (same 3 riders) may only compete 5 times together in this class

• No experienced teams please but one experienced rider may ride with 2 inexperienced riders but cannot cut out Donkeys (Experienced rider can hold the line, help block and coach the inexperienced riders) also the experienced rider will not get points (not eligible for awards)

• Teams will get their full 2 minutes if needed to pen or sort their Donkeys

Donkey Jackpot

• Open to anyone

• One rider only and pen 1 Donkey

• Same setup as regular Donkey penning except pen will be set against the wall

• Limited to only one ride per person

• Payback 80/20

Payout 1-10 Teams  1 place.... 11-20 Teams 2 places.....  21-30 Teams 3 places....  31-40 Teams 4 places.... 41 and over teams 5 places
